During a GDC 2023 panel, CD Projekt Red disclosed plans to demonstrate their RT: Overdrive mode, which incorporates Cyberpunk 2077's path tracing. One of the visually gorgeous video game titles available is Cyberpunk 2077. It was released in 2020 and offers complete support for add-on vision capabilities like ray tracing, ray traced reflections, diffuse lighting, and more. But, there is always opportunity for development, and RT Overdrive in Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be making progress. In the game, players can save up enough Cheap Cyberpunk 2077 EuroDollar.
Even when Cyberpunk 2077 was released with support for ray tracing, CD Projekt Red continued to improve the game as much as possible. DLSS users on modern Nvidia GPUs recently received the DLSS 3 update, which includes DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation technologies. This addition led Nvidia to claim that PC gamers with RTX 40-series GPUs will be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 at maximum performance in various settings, including ray tracing options.
Developers like CD Projekt Red continue to push the boundaries as GPU performance and capabilities enable PCs to improve visuals. In partnership with Nvidia, an example was announced at GDC 2023 in a panel titled Cyberpunk 2077 RT: Overdrive - Bringing Path Tracing to Night City. The group will show a demo of Cyberpunk 2077 after implementing RTX path tracing technology.
RTX Path Tracing is an Nvidia software development kit that combines real-time ray tracing with neurographics development to create real-time path tracing tracers. Imagine the path a ray of light takes as it reflects through a window and leaves a reflective surface. CD Projekt Red can use this technology in Cyberpunk 2077 to create more realistic and impressive lighting, as well as increasingly realistic reflections.
Showcasing RT: Overdrive for Cyberpunk 2077 at the Game Developers Conference 2023 will allow CD Projekt Red to share in the potential of this technology and help developers at other studios understand what is possible and how to make it happen. However, it should be clear that this is a closed group for developers. It's unlikely to be shared publicly, and it's not necessarily what Cyberpunk 2077 fans want.
RT: The initial Overdrive announcement was made in conjunction with the January release of Cyberpunk 2077's DLSS 3 update. It was divided into a separate version instead. At the time, Nvidia promised that RT: Overdrive will be ready for Cyberpunk 2077 by the end of the year. These intentions have not yet been confirmed by CD Projekt Red, but the GDC panel should raise expectations for a quick release. Even if a release date may not be made public anytime soon, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 are eagerly anticipating it. You can find additional gaming guides at wmbtc.com.
