Opening Day!
Well, it’s finally here. Saturday, May 10 is the first market of the season!
A note about driving and parking: This Saturday is the Second Annual Celtic Street Fair in Phoenixville and it’s happening all day. The 200 block of Bridge Street (between Main and Gay) will be closed from 8am on. Please plan your drive accordingly. Also, the ongoing demolition of the Gay Street bridge means that there are fewer available parking spaces adjacent to the market. However, the Demutis Group has given us permission to use the lot of the Justice Center building for market parking. Please do not park in the Family Dollar lot, as they are open while we are and need those spots for their own customers.
On Saturday afternoon we’re supposed to have some rain showers, but it looks like we should be in the clear during the market hours, 9am – 1pm.
We’re thrilled to have some special guests on opening day. Eclat Chocolate will be there with their extraordinary chocolates and truffles; and local singer/songwriter Blake Allen and his band will entertain us from 10am – 1pm.
It’s also the Second Saturday of the month which means we’ll have four wonderful local artists at the market. Stop by to see Markels Roberts of Diving Cat Studio, potter Cara Graver, ceramic artist Patricia Tolton, and Victoria O’Neill, who will lead a Mother’s Day craft under the market tent. Come make beautiful, unique paper flowers and tie together with pretty ribbon to create an everlasting Mother’s Day bouquet. Creative and unusual recycled containers for vases will be on display for ideas.
Charlestown Playschool will host a plant sale at the market on Saturday as well. They will have 1 gallon perennials for sale. All plants are locally grown and sales support the school.
Finally, Denise from Ocean Earth Wind Fire will be at the market to lead a yoga class for kids and adults at 9:30am down by the bike path.

See you at the market!
